Seeking Presenters for ESEH 2019

Dear all,

I am putting together a panel proposal for ESEH (the European Society for Environmental History) in August 2019.

The panel will explore enviro-tech narratives in Ottoman history. So far we have two papers: one dealing with paper "technologies" and land theft and management in nineteenth-century Basra; and one looking at the combined role of local (human and animal) power and expertise and Western technology in the construction of Western Anatolian railways in the 1860s.

We are hoping to have two more papers, dealing with any geographic or temporal part of the Ottoman Empire, and any kind of technology. The conference submission deadline is 31st October, so if you're interested please contact by October 21, 2018:
