You may be relieved to know that OCTOBER 1, 2018 is the new deadline for submitting your proposals to the next World Congress of Environmental History, to be held in Florianopolis (Brasil) on July 22-26, 2019, and organised by ICEHO and the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina. The reason for extending the deadline, however, is not so much our desire of collecting more proposals than the hundreds we got already, but rather a compulsory response to the socio-environmental tragedy that hit hard our closest Brazilian friends and convenors of the congress: the devastating fire of the National Museum of Rio de Janeiro. Here you can read the reasons why this is a tragic event directly affecting the environmental history community in Brazil and therefore the normal schedule of our congress. Let us also repeat here the special call they make: "If you have researched at the National Museum, if you have images of the collections, the artifacts, or any related documents, please send copies to museunacional.ufrj.br/memoria (it is an institutional link.) If your institution would like to support the National Museum of Brazil in a more concrete way, write to firstname.lastname@example.org".
For submitting your proposals to the 3rd World Congress of Environmental History up to October 1st, follow this link: https://convention2.allacademic.com/one/iceho/iceho19/
