Dear colleagues,

It is a pleasure to announce the publication of the inaugural article of our journal Worldwide Waste: Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies. The paper is titled "What is waste?" and has been written by Joshua Reno. A response to it - by Zsuzsa Gille - has also been published. You can access both papers through the following links:

Worldwide Waste is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal, which critically interrogates the cultural, social, economic and political systems within which waste is created, managed and circulated. As interdisciplinarity is the central principle of the journal, submissions are encouraged from across the humanities and social sciences, including anthropology, archaeology, ecology, geography, history, literature, philosophy, politics, sociology, science and technology studies, and the visual and performing arts. For details, please, see www.worldwidewastejournal.com

with best regards

Katarzyna Cwiertka
