Call for co-editorship: Historical Geography
Call for journal co-editor
Historical Geography is a peer-reviewed annual journal that publishes scholarly articles, book reviews, conference reports, and commentaries. Since 1993, the journal has encouraged an interdisciplinary dialogue among scholars, professionals, and students interested in geographic perspectives on the past. It is an independent journal published online using Open Journal Systems and is currently hosted at University of New Mexico. The journal is also supported by the Historical Geography Speciality Group of the American Association of Geographers.
The journal is currently seeking a co-editor to replace outgoing co-editor Maria Lane (University of New Mexico). Working with co-editor Arn Keeling (Memorial University of Newfoundland), book reviews editor John T. Bauer (University of Nebraska-Kearney) and the journal editorial board, the new co-editor will assist with manuscript solicitation, peer review and editing, as well as journal production and management. The position is voluntary and typically held for a 5-year term.
We are seeking an established, though not necessarily senior scholar in historical geography or cognate fields for this position. Suitably qualified candidates should send a short CV and one-page expression of interest to Maria Lane (mdlane@unm.edu) and Arn Keeling (akeeling@mun.ca) by June 15, 2017. Any questions about the journal or the position may be directed to them as well. The appointment will begin in 2018, with a transition period in Fall 2017.
