Dear Subscribers to HABSBURG,

after a decade on the editorial board of HABSBURG, it is time to step back and thank you all for your loyalty to our network. It was a pleasure to work with all of you and especially in a great and highly motivated team. I now have the pleasure to bring you a personal statement from Daniel Haarmann, our newest network editor, who joined the team in May 2020. I myself will continue to be available to the HABSBURG community in my new position as part of the advisory board.

Kind regards,

Marion Romberg

Dear Subscribers to HABSBURG,

Dear colleagues,

Dear ladies and gentlemen,

I am pleased to introduce myself as the new editor and webmaster to HABSBURG. I follow the large footsteps of Marion Romberg who hold both offices for a no less than a decade.

Let me introduce myself: I am an Austrian historian. My main research interests focus on the history of concepts, identity construction, and knowledge and cultural exchange between Hungary and the Austrian hereditary lands in the late 18thand early 19th century. Currently, I am a visiting researcher at the Institute for Hungarian Literature at the Eötvös Loránd Research Network, formerly part of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.  My project, which is funded with an Erwin Schrödinger-scholarship by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF), studies the so-called Hungarian Language Renewal in the period from 1776 to 1825.

As an editor of HABSBURG, I want to continue the solid work of the network so far and make some new contributions (we are already discussing some ideas intern). However, I sincerely ask you and invite you to help us to develop and improve HABSBURG. So, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have suggestions and ideas for our network. Last but not least, continue to send us your call for papers, articles, books, table of contents like you did before.

I am looking forward to work for HABSBURG and the exchange with all of you!

Sincerely,

Daniela Haarmann
