After two terms as Executive Director of the Central European History Society (CEHS), Benjamin Marschke of Humboldt State University will step down in 2021. The Society therefore invites applications for the four-year term of Executive Director, 2021-2025. The Executive Director is the Society’s chief administrator who oversees its finances and its tax-free corporate status. Some of the director’s tasks include maintaining the CEHS website, supervising board elections, organizing the Society’s AHA reception, and registering society-sponsored panels at the AHA’s annual meeting. If required, the director furthermore manages the appointment of the Editor of Central European History, the Society’s journal. Finally, the director serves as the Society’s contact person for all other queries. The position carries no honorarium, but the Society underwrites the director’s travel and hotel costs for the GSA and AHA conferences and other expenses.
Astrid M. Eckert (Emory University), Pieter M. Judson (European University Institute/Florence), and James M. Brophy (University of Delaware) comprise the search committee.
