The Journal of Austrian-American History, sponsored by the Botstiber Institute for Austrian-American Studies and published by Penn State University Press, is an open access, peer-reviewed scholarly journal that publishes new and original work and makes important older works more accessible to the public. The first volume will appear in late 2017.

The editorial board welcomes submissions of articles based on original research that speak to the relationship between the United States and Austria, including the historical Habsburg Empire. Articles from scholars working in history and allied fields -- such as political science, economics, law, and cultural studies broadly construed -- are welcome. In addition to original articles, the journal will also publish primary source features with scholarly commentary, historiographic review essays, and English translations of particularly influential scholarship previously published in other languages. More information about the journal can be found at https://www.psupress.org/journals/jnls_JAAH.html.

Submissions are welcome on a rolling basis, but the next deadline for priority consideration is Monday, May 29th. To submit an article or to register as a potential reviewer for the JAAH, visit http://www.editorialmanager.com/jaah. Manuscripts should be no longer than forty double-spaced pages, including footnotes in the Chicago Manual of Style format. The editor can be contacted at journal@botstiber.org to discuss primary source features, review essays, or English translations before submission.

More information about the BIAAS, including its grant and fellowship program, can be found at http://www.botstiber.org.
