Fulbright Scholar Awards in Peace Studies
Dear Colleagues,
The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program offers teaching, research or combination teaching and research awards in over 125 countries for the 2018-2019 academic year. Opportunities are available for college and university faculty as well as for professionals and independent scholars. Awards that may be of interest to the H-Peace community include:
Korea – Peace Studies (Teaching)
Scholars in peace and conflict resolution, human rights, and international security policy may be particularly interested in this award. For four or 10 months, grantees will teach graduate courses on select topics at The Graduate Institute of Peace Studies, Kyung Hee University.
Norway – Advanced International Studies at the Nobel Institute
This award is offered by the Norwegian Nobel Institute Visiting Fellows Program in collaboration with Fulbright. It offers academics the opportunity to conduct research for three months in Oslo. Each year has a different topic, for 2019 it will be: “The Camp David Accords and the Egyptian-Israeli peace process 1977-1979.”
Palestinian Territories (West Bank Only) – All Disciplines
Selected candidates to this award will have the opportunity to teach and/or conduct research at one of six universities in the West Bank over five to 10 months. Members of H-Peace should note the particular interest in peace studies and conflict resolution in the award.
Paraguay – All Disciplines
Academics and professionals alike may be interested in this teaching or teaching/research opportunity in Paraguay. This award has a specific interest in law enforcement management and is eligible to be conducted in short segments over two years under the Flex Award option.
India – Fulbright-Nehru Distinguished Chair (All Disciplines)
Under this award, grantees have the opportunity to teach or teach and conduct research over four months in one of the largest education systems in the world. Applications are sought in all appropriate disciplines and the grant activity may be conducted at a university, think tank, NGO, or research center.

The application deadline for the current competition is August 1, 2017.
