Does the Bolshevik Revolution Matter Today?

Columbia University historian Mark Mazower has published a new essay in The Guardian about the relative dearth of new scholarship on the Bolshevik Revolution this centenary year. In addition to positing some reasons for this, Mazower discusses powerful new works by Masha Gessen, Serhii Plokhy, Yuri Slezkine, and Steven Kotkin. Ultimately, Mazower concludes, "the Bolshevik Revolution has things to teach us yet."
