CALL FOR PAPERS: GENDER AND JOY IN HISTORY, LILITH: A FEMINIST HISTORY JOURNAL SYMPOSIUM 2023

‘Gender and Joy in History’ is a symposium aimed at counterposing the common scholarly focus on catastrophe and crisis of recent years. Lilith: A Feminist History Journal now calls for scholars in all areas of gender and feminist history to consider questions about how women, feminists and gender diverse people have found joy, strength, resilience, inspiration, love, happiness and transcendence in the past.

Call for Papers: The Gender & History Graduate Student Essay Prize

The Gender & History Graduate Student Essay Prize is awarded every three years. The aim of the prize is to promote scholarship among postgraduate research students working in the field of gender history. Entrants should keep in mind the journal’s mandate to examine changing conceptions of gender and map the dialogue between femininities, masculinities, sexualities and their historical contexts. We welcome submissions focused on history from any time period or place, or essays exploring broader methodological questions.
