Call for Submissions | Outstanding Book Award in History of Education

The History of Education Society (USA) invites you to nominate your book(s) to the Outstanding Book Award competition.

This award recognizes the most outstanding book on the history of education published in 2019. This includes books on schooling as well as educational institutions and processes more broadly, concerning the United States and/or other locations. Only books copyrighted in 2019 are eligible for consideration for this year’s award.

Criteria used to evaluate the books include:
• Originality of the study;
• Thoroughness of the research/scholarship;
• Contributions to the field;
• Stylistic fluidity and beauty; and
• Potential for lasting impact on the history of education.

The History of Education Society Outstanding Book Award Committee will also accept e-books this year to accommodate authors and presses affected by COVID-19. In order to be considered, copies of your book(s) must be received by all four members of the committee at the addresses listed below no later than July 1st, 2020.
