Query: Urdu literature on natural disasters?
Dear colleagues,
Does anyone know of modern writing on natural disasters, particularly earthquakes or floods, in Urdu? Either fiction or auto/biographical.

There is one nazm by Nazir Akbarabadi, called Bhuchal Nama, describing the earthquake in Agra during early 19th c. He has also written on other natural occurrence such as Aandhi (Hurricane).

Dear Dan,
A. R. Khatoon wrote about the 1935 earthquake in Quetta in her novel "Shama", which is in Urdu. It was published in 1941.
