Quaker & Special Collections at Haverford College is now accepting applications for its 2022-2023 Fellowship programs. These Fellowships provide funding for scholars at any stage of their careers to engage with our unique materials.

Quaker & Special Collections includes materials documenting the history, faith, and practice of the Society of Friends from its founding to the present, as well as materials which illuminate histories of abolition, health and environment, relief work, book history, and material culture.

We are offering two Fellowships for 2022-2023:

The Gest Fellowship supports projects engaging with religion, historical religious practices, history, literature, material culture, Quakerism, or other topics supported by collections materia.

The Thomas Scattergood Behavioral Health Foundation Research Fellowship supports projects engaging with the history of mental health, mental health care reform, and the role of Quakerism in mental health care.

Haverford Libraries are committed to fostering an equitable and inclusive environment and encourage members of groups that have traditionally been underrepresented to apply for fellowships.
