Graduate Students in American history are invited to submit scholarly papers on a competitive basis for an invitational

symposium hosted by the History Department at Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas:  "Honoring Pioneer Feminists of Color

in the Second Wave" to be held March 24 & 25, 2022.

The conference opens with a panel featuring three outstanding leaders in American history who will share their remarkable experiences:

Frances Beal, Martha Cotera, and Yvonne Swan (formerly Wanrow). Leading scholars in the field will present their work the next day, 

alongside selected graduate presenters. Students selected to give papers will receive up to $500 to defray travel and accommodation costs.

(International applicants, if selected, may receive additional funding.)  Please submit a brief (2 pg.) c.v. and a scholarly presentation of no

more than 3,000 words. Papers must be received for consideration by February 1, 2022, sent to co-convenors Catherine Clinton
