I’m looking for a final speaker for a panel of PhD students/early-career scholars on the theme of ‘Slavery, abolition, and nationalism in the nineteenth century: The American South in comparative perspective’ for the Transatlantic Studies Association Conference (University of North Georgia, Dahlonega, Georgia, USA, 9-11 July 2018). The panel addresses the following themes:
Friends Historical Association (FHA) seeks an editor for its journal Quaker History to begin duties by May 2018. The editor receives a stipend of $2,500 for each issue ($5,000 a year).
About Friends Historical Association:
The principal aim of the conference is to overcome a Eurocentric approach to Atlantic history that considers it as a mere history of the Europeans overseas empires. Instead, the focus of the debate will be on the active role played by Native Americans and Africans in shaping transformations of the period.
