John Hull
Hello Everyone. I hope that you are all enjoying the summer. I am studying John Hull, the Boston merchant and mintmaster who lived from 1624-1683. I am aware of the following documents that were written by him, but I figured that it would not hurt to see whether anyone had any suggestions of other available documents, especially because I will be in London and Oxford over the next few weeks.
I am aware of:
Letterbook – American Antiquarian Society
Sermon Notes – Massachusetts Historical Society
Account Book – New England Historic Genealogical Society
Published Diary – Does anyone know whether the manuscript diary contains things that the published version does not?
I am particularly interested in locating more of Hull’s business records and correspondence—especially those with his English-based business associates—as I am attempting to learn as much as I can about Hull and his contemporary information network. All advice and suggestions—including those for secondary sources—will be appreciated.

Post ReplyJennifer,
I recommend getting in touch with Mark Peterson at UC-Berkeley (mark-peterson@berkeley.edu). He's extensively researched and written on John Hull, and is probably your best source of information.
