CFP: Northeastern Nahuatl Group Annual Meetings

John Schwaller Discussion

The Northeastern Group of Nahuatl Scholars meeting will be held in Boston, MA, on Friday, April 24 (noon) through Sunday, April 26.  The meeting will be hosted by the University of Massachusetts, Boston.  Scholars interested in presenting may now send in their proposals, with a 250-word abstract.  Successful proposals will be notified by March 1.  After that, proposals will be accepted on a space-available basis.

Nahuatl Documents:

As always, we hope that a significant portion of the time will be dedicated to the group study of original Nahuatl language manuscripts. This is a unique opportunity in which most of the leading scholars of Nahuatl collaborate to assist with difficult words and passages. It is one of the most rewarding and exciting parts of the conference. Submissions of documents or passages for analysis are strongly encouraged.

Scholarly Presentations:

Those interested in presenting a scholarly research paper on some aspect of Nahuatl, Nahua ethnohistory, art history of the Nahua, or any other topic having to do with Nahuatl or the Nahua are asked to submit a proposal.  Please include a 250 word abstract with the proposal.

There will be a conference registration fee, which defrays the cost of some of the meals.  There is a reduced fee for graduate students and others of limited means upon request.

The final deadline for proposals is March 1, 2020.
