H-Celebration brings together the far-flung fields of Celebration Studies, Festive Studies, and Leisure Studies (rituals, ceremonies, holidays, religion, lore). Our aim is to unify diverse scholars who work in these areas but need to explore their (intradisciplinary, interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, cross-disciplinary, transdisciplinary) interests into other departments, publications, conferences, and networks. H-Celebration aims to provide a fertile place and digital tools for this growing field to thrive through a range of publication formats, including a peer-review journal, digital imagery, blogs, books reviews. We also welcome editors and subscribers to post and initiate informal discussion within the scope of the network.
Editors and subscribers are free to start discussions provided that they address and inform festivals, celebration and leisure studies. To that end, we ask that contributions be considerate, and as such, the lead editor retains the right to review material for its pertinence, tone, style, and relevance to the network's mission.
If you are interested in becoming a network editor and take an active role in developing new, open-access online materials and resources for the field we would love to hear from you. We are currently looking for contributors, bloggers, discussants, resources and learning and teaching editors. If you are interested in helping us build this network, email us or please see our recruitment page for further details.
