Another historian and I are hoping to assemble a panel for the upcoming Southern Conference on British Studies in Birmingham, Alabama. While we are still ironing out the exact themes and concepts, the panel aims to broadly focus on anti-war and anti-imperialism. We are looking for a panelist to join our two papers.
One paper focuses on the anti-war effort in WWI Scotland, while another focuses on Jewish anti-colonialism in Interwar British Mandate Palestine. As such, some appropriate themes may include-- but are certainly not limited to-- the following:
- Wartime networks
- Social movements
- Race, class, and networks
- Radicalism, particularly left-wing radicalism
- .... and anything else you may think of!
We welcome papers from any scholar whose work might bring an interesting perspective to this topic. Please don't hesitate to get in touch with me at firstname.lastname@example.org by May 10, 2018. if you are interested in coming on board, so that we can put together a proposal.
