Hello! We recently received a grant for a pilot project to create an open access primary source "reader" featuring Virginian oral histories that fit with the curriculum goals of the American history survey (since 1865). The idea is that high school and college students will have free access to a curated group of oral history clips (anywhere from 2-10 minutes long), their context, and discussion questions from their computer or phone. Together, these would serve the function of a textbook companion or written primary source reader. I'm hoping someone here can help us find archivists with oral history collections and who wouldn't mind those being used with attribution under creative commons or fair use. I'm happy to send licensing paperwork for folks to look at as well. Please email me at Jessicataylor@vt.edu with any questions or thoughts!
