Oral History & Buddhism: Interview Methodology Query
Dear colleagues,
I am currently working towards the completion of a graduate thesis based heavily upon interviews with Buddhist practitioners in the tradition of Vietnamese Zen Master Thích Nhất Hạnh. A portion of this work will examine the interface between oral history methods and Buddhist teachings through the notion of "deep listening" and mindfulness within the interview setting.
I am curious whether there are other oral historians who bring this type of approach to their work and might be interested in discussing this relationship further? To reply to this message, please contact me directly at: eaf2151@columbia.edu.
Warmest regards,
