My name is Dr Matthew Kidd and I am the founder of Archive Mole, a UK-based research service founded in 2020. Our most popular service is Document Copying, intended for researchers who need copies of documents from UK archives. Led by a postdoctoral researcher with over fifteen years of archival research experience, our Archive Mole team will:

  • Visit archives/records offices/libraries anywhere in the UK on your behalf
  • Copy and send you digital photographs of the requested materials

Our Document Copying service is charged at a half-day rate of £110 (reduced rate of £80 for BA/MA/PhD students), plus the cost of any travel expenses. We also offer a range of other services tailored to your needs, including Document Review, Material Location, Proofreading, File Renaming, Transcription, and Administration.

You can find out more about Archive Mole, including testimonials, on our website ( or by following our Twitter account. You can also get in touch by emailing us at
