Hello fellow oral historians,
As a public librarian/oral historian, I am very aware of the multitude of challenges being thrown our way at the moment. My library's admin are being very proactive in drafting policies to address challenges to our print collection, but our oral history collection is very new and in the earliest stages of development. I was recently targeted by an angry relative of someone mentioned in an oral history interview I conducted many years ago as a graduate student, and this person has threatened to sue me for slander. To protect myself, the library, and this new collection from similar responses in the future, I am wondering if any of you have a policy in place that addresses challenges to your oral history collections.
Thanks!
