Abstract:
Join us for a free webinar for nonprofit organizations on community-led legacy projects and archives, hosted by the Permanent Legacy Foundation and TheirStory. Current Byte4Byte Digital Preservation Grant partners will share their unique projects and insights.

We will hear from representatives at E4Youth; Women Military Aviators; American Muslim Health Professionals; Washington State Jewish Historical Society; and the Peale, Baltimore's Community Museum.

Attendees will also learn how to apply for a Byte4Byte Digital Preservation grant so they, too, can preserve and provide perpetual access to the diverse and vibrant legacies of the individuals, organizations, and movements in their communities.

The Permanent Legacy Foundation’s mission is to preserve and provide perpetual access to the digital legacy of all people for the historical and educational benefit of future generations. A core part of their approach to digital preservation is their Byte4Byte granting program, which provides free, secure cloud storage to fellow nonprofits who have limited means and/or infrastructure to support digital preservation efforts typically employed by larger cultural heritage institutions.

The Permanent Legacy Foundation partners and integrates with TheirStory, so that Byte4Byte grantees who utilize both TheirStory and Permanent can directly sync their oral histories to Permanent for digital preseravation and perpetual access.
