Upcoming online lecture! The Russian Collection at the Danish Arsenal Museum
The Russian Collection at the Danish Arsenal Museum
A free online lecture by Dr. Jakob Seerup
Following the Russian Revolution, General Paul Goudime-Levkowitch-- an alumnus of the prestigious Corps des Pages and former personal page to Tsar Alexander III-- settled in France. He took with him an extensive personal collection of military uniforms.
In 1943, General Goudime-Levkowitch shipped the collection to Copenhagen to be saved from the ravages of WWII. So, what does this museum collection of militaria have to do with Russian royals? How does this story involve the likes of Grand Dukes and Grand Duchesses living in Copenhagen? Join us as curator Jakob Seerup examines this unique collection at the Danish War Museum, set alongside the fascinating biography of a little-known Russian general.
