In recognition of Women’s History Month/International Women's Day, this month Art After Hours features a preview of Communism Through the Lens: Everyday Life Captured by Women Photographers in the Dodge Collection, led by exhibition curator Maria Garth, a Ph.D. student in Art History at Rutgers and current Graduate Curatorial Assistant (Dodge Fellow) at the Zimmerli. This upcoming exhibition of rarely seen images explores how women in the Soviet Union used photography to reflect on politics, art, gender, and everyday life in the communist state.
