The SHERA Board is now accepting proposals for the SHERA-sponsored session at the College Art Association's 109th Annual Conference in New York, to be held February 10-13, 2021. The deadline to send proposals to SHERA is April 20, 2020.
Sessions dealing with any topic in art and architectural history or visual studies of Russia, Eastern Europe, or Eurasia are welcome. Organizers may submit complete sessions or sessions soliciting contributions, which will be circulated during CAA's call for participation period July 1-August 17, 2020. Organizers of both types of sessions should plan for 90-minute sessions. In the case of 20-minute papers, that means three speakers plus introductory remarks and discussion. To submit a SHERA-sponsored session, please email the following items to email@example.com:
- Title and abstract (250 words max.) for the session
- CVs for chairs (shortened CVs preferred)
- For complete sessions only: all names and affiliations of session participants (chairs, presenters, discussants), presentation titles, and abstracts (250 words max.)
Chairs need to be SHERA members in good standing in order to submit a session. All session participants will need to be members in good standing of both CAA and SHERA if the session is accepted.
The SHERA-sponsored session is guaranteed acceptance at CAA. The internal SHERA deadline to submit is April 20, 2020. This allows all applicants who are not chosen to still submit their sessions to CAA by the general call for sessions April 30 deadline.
