Dear SHERA members,
For those attending the CAA conference next month, we hope that you will join us for these SHERA-sponsored events:
- SHERA business meeting and lunch. We will hold a short meeting (~20 min.) on Friday, Feb. 14, at 12:30 in the Astoria Room, 3rd Floor of the Hilton. Those who wish to continue the conversation more informally will head to lunch at the nearby restaurant Nui B (888 S. Michigan Ave—a 2 min. walk from Hilton). So that we can get a rough estimate on numbers for the reservation, please RSVP here. Note that lunch attendees will be responsible for their own check.
- SHERA-sponsored panel. "Freezes and Thaws in the Socialist Bloc," organized by Yelena Kalinsky and Adrian Barr, will take place Saturday, 2/15, at 4pm, 3rd Floor, Astoria Room.
- Anna Paluch, the winner of the Graduate Student/Independent Scholar Travel Grant, will present her paper "From Turtle Island to Vistula’s Shores: Indigenous and Slavic Futurisms in Dialogue" on the panel "The Present of the Future: Indigenous Futurisms in the Visual Arts" on Saturday, 2/15, at 2pm in Lobby Level, Continental B.
If you are involved in or know of a panel at CAA that would be interesting for our membership, please send details to email@example.com by January 31. We will compile and distribute a list.
All best, and hope to see you soon!
