CAA TRAVEL GRANTS FOR THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE

Multiple Deadlines: August 26, September 4, and September 23, 2019

CAA offers Annual Conference Travel Grants to graduate students in art history and studio art and to international artists and scholars. Applicants may apply for more than one grant but can only receive a single award.

CAA TRAVEL GRANT IN MEMORY OF ARCHIBALD CASON EDWARDS, SENIOR, AND SARAH STANLEY GORDON EDWARDS

Established by Mary D. Edwards with the help of others, the CAA Travel Grant in Memory of Archibald Cason Edwards, Senior, and Sarah Stanley Gordon Edwards will support women who are emerging scholars at either an advanced stage of pursuing a doctoral degree (ABD) or who have received their PhD within two years prior to the submission of the application. Successful applicants will also receive a complimentary conference registration. The applicants must be presenting research papers at an art history session at the conference. Nominations for this award are due September 4, 2019.

CAA GRADUATE STUDENT CONFERENCE TRAVEL GRANTS

CAA will award a limited number of Graduate Student Conference Travel Grants to advanced PhD and MFA graduate students as partial reimbursement of travel expenses for the 108th CAA Annual Conference, taking place February 12–15, 2020, in Chicago. To qualify for the grant, students must be current CAA members (active from time of application through the conference). Funds are for transportation to and from the conference only, not for meals or lodging. Successful applicants will also receive a complimentary conference registration. Applications for this award are due September 23, 2019.

CAA INTERNATIONAL MEMBER CONFERENCE TRAVEL GRANTS

CAA will award a limited number of International Member Conference Travel Grants to artists and scholars from outside the United States as partial reimbursement of travel expenses for 107th CAA Annual Conference, taking place February 12–15, 2020, in Chicago. To qualify for the grant, applicants must be current CAA members (active from time of application through the conference). Successful applicants will also receive a complimentary conference registration. Applications for this award are due September 23, 2019.

SAMUEL H. KRESS FOUNDATION CAA CONFERENCE TRAVEL FELLOWSHIP FOR INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARS

Recognizing the value of first-hand exchanges of ideas and experience among art historians, the Kress Foundation is offering support for international scholars participating as speakers at the CAA Annual Conference.. The scholarly focus of the papers must be European art before 1830. The Fellowships will cover a portion of international airfare or other travel expenses. Funds are for transportation to and from the conference only, not for meals or lodging. Successful applicants will also receive a complimentary conference registration. Nominations for this award are due August 26, 2019.
