CFP: James A. Barnes Graduate History Conference (Virtual, 9-10 April 2021)
by Stanley Schwartz
The 26th Annual James A. Barnes Graduate History Conference will be held over Zoom across April 9-10, 2021. The event is one of the largest and most prestigious graduate student conferences in the region, showcasing work from participants around the United States and the world.
Proposals from graduate students for individual papers or panels are welcome on any topic, time period, or approach to history. We welcome proposals that foreground public history or digital humanities, and are eager to work with applicants in these fields to facilitate their participation. Panels will include three or four paper presentations, running between fifteen and twenty minutes each, with comments and questions to follow.
Dr. Wayne Lee, Distinguished Professor in the Department of History at the University of North Carolina, will give the keynote address on Saturday, April 10. At the conclusion of the conference, cash prizes will be awarded to the best papers in several categories. The Professor Russell F. Weigley - Army Heritage Center Foundation Award is an especially noteworthy prize awarded to the best paper in military history presented at the conference.
Please submit a 250-word abstract that outlines your original research and a current C.V. through this link no later than January 31, 2021. The registration fee is $15 for participants.
