I apologize for not posting this prior to the event last week, but I still wanted to share it with the H-Animal community as it looks totally amazing. Hopefully some H-Animalistas in the UK were able to attend. -- The Editor

This is a reminder that the call for papers for the British Animal Studies Network Autumn conference, entitled ‘Animal Machines / Machine Animals’ is open until the 29th June 2018. The conference will take place on the 2nd and 3rd November, and is organised by the Life Geographies Group of the University of Exeter.
Dear BASN Friend
I'm delighted to announce that you can now listen to two more specially commissioned poems by our poet-in-residence Susan Richardson on the website: www.britishanimalstudiesnetwork.org.uk
'Stench' was written for 'Smelling' in 2016; and 'Speaking Seal' for the recent 'Sex' meeting. Susan's poem for 'Hearing' (2017) is also available to, well, hear.
Thanks to Susan for the wonderful poems. Enjoy!
The link to re-register for the British Animal Studies Network sent out yesterday seemed not to work, so can I suggest that you go to the website for BASN - https://www.britishanimalstudiesnetwork.org.uk/ - and click on the 'Register for Updates' link on the left sidebar to do that.
Here is an admittedly incomplete list of some recent or forthcoming publications that might be of interest to H-Animalistas:
Matthew Adams, “Towards a critical psychology of human-animal relations,” Social & Personality Psychology Compass 12.4 (2018), pp. 1-14: https://doi.org/10.1111/spc3.12375
In line with new legal requirements around data protection we will be deleting the existing British Animal Studies Network mailing list. But we absolutely don't want to lose touch with you, and hope that you too want to continue to receive the BASN emails updating you on our calls for papers and meetings.
So, if you wish to continue to receive BASN updates, please go to:
