Istorija 20. veka was founded in 1982 and was continuously published ever since by the Institute for Contemporary History in Belgrade. We invite researchers to send us papers whose subject is contemporary history of Serbia, Yugoslavia and the Balkans in European and global context.
About the Journal: Istorija 20. veka is a forum for historians all over the world who share a common interest in the study of contemporary history. It promotes critical analysis of political, social, cultural, economic, diplomatic, military and intellectual history, fosters academic debate and is open for novel methodological approaches. Contributions are interdisciplinary and based on original archival research and innovative interpretations.
Istorija 20.veka is an Open Access Journal. It is included in SCOPUS, ERIH PLUS index (European Reference Index for the Humanities and Social Sciences), Central and Eastern European Online Library (CEEOL) and Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). In the categorization of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia since 2021 it carries the category of an international journal (M23).
Guidelines for Submission: Articles should be no longer than 50,000 characters, including footnotes and other additions. Text should be written in English, submitted in MS Word, font is Times New Roman size 12, with 1.5 spacing. Footnotes are without spacing, font size 10. For citation style and other details consult our guidelines. Deadline for submission of the articles is September 1, 2022. Applicants will be notified no later than September 15, 2022.
