We are excited to announce the inaugural season of the Washington-Area German History Seminar. The Seminar is hosted collectively by the German Historical Institute, Georgetown University, and George Mason University. It aims to bring together scholars to present new work on German history in a collegial environment. Meeting approximately three times a semester, seminar participants will discuss pre-circulated papers. In Spring 2023 we will be meeting on the following dates: 

February 27, 4:00 PM: Robert Gerwarth, “Germany in Europe’s Age of Civil Wars (1917-1949): A Sonderweg?”

March 27, 4:00 PM: Samuel Huneke, “Lesbians in Nazi Germany”

April 24, 4:00 PM: Anna von der Goltz, “Writing the History of post-1945 Germany: Transatlantic Developments in the Historiography"
