The American Center for Mongolian Studies (ACMS) is offering several fellowship opportunities in 2023, with some upcoming deadlines in February - April. For more information about the different programs, please visit www.mongoliacenter.org/fellowships and www.mongoliacenter.org/mfs23.

 

ACMS Field Research Fellowship Program provides awards of up to $4,000 to US citizen students and/or university faculty to conduct academic field research in Mongolia between May and October. The fellowship is supported with funding from the US Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs through a grant by the Council of American Overseas Research Centers. Application deadline: February 15, 2023

 

ACMS Library Fellowship Program provides awards of up to $4,000 to support advanced US graduate students, faculty members, or professionals in library and information sciences from colleges and universities to conduct short-term library development projects and/or research in Mongolia for a period of up to 12 weeks. This program helps support the development of the ACMS research library through specific defined projects designed to enhance the collection content and resource availability. The fellowship is supported with funding from the US Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs through a grant by the Council of American Overseas Research Centers. Application deadline: February 15, 2023

 

ACMS Intensive Mongolian Language Program. Students and scholars at an intermediate level of proficiency in Mongolian are invited to enroll in an eight week Intensive Mongolian Language Program at the ACMS in Ulaanbaatar, from June 5 to August 4, 2023. The focus of this program is to provide students with an opportunity to enhance their communicative competence through systematic improvement of reading, writing, listening and speaking skills, in an immersive environment. Full and partial fellowships are available. Application deadline: February 15, 2023

 

ACMS Mongolia Field School. Join our Mongolia Field School 2023, with three course offerings led by teams of International and Mongolian instructors who are experts in their fields. You will have the opportunity to visit areas of the country off the beaten path, experience local life and culture and conduct academic field work and educational explorations with a small group that includes both international and Mongolian participants. Everyone is welcome to apply - whether you are a student, a teacher or a lifelong learner, our program offers a unique experience where you will gain new insights and take away memories that will last a lifetime. You can apply for up to two Field School courses; each course has a tuition of $3,500. A significant number of fellowships are available thanks to the generous support of the Henry Luce Foundation and other donors, with awards based on merit, diversity, and need. All applicants who apply by the March 1, 2023 deadline are given priority consideration for fellowship awards. Application deadline: Priority deadline March 1, 2023; final deadline April 30, 2023.
