In keeping with HERA’s mission of promoting the study of the humanities across a wide range of disciplines and interdisciplinary studies, we invite presentations for the 2023 conference. Submissions are encouraged from educators at all levels (including undergraduate and graduate students) as well as all those with an interest in the arts and humanities. The conference does offer a hybrid format for international participants or for those unable to physically attend. Hybrid format is limited reservations.
Proposals for papers, panels, or workshops must be submitted through the conference web portal on the HERA website at https://www.utep.edu/liberalarts/hera/conference/index.html
Undergraduate students must apply for only one of the two undergraduate prizes.
Undergraduate Diversity Prize: A prize of $500 will be awarded to the best undergraduate conference paper that addresses race, ethnicity, gender, or sexuality.
Undergraduate Research Prize
A prize of $1,000 will be awarded to the best undergraduate conference paper (or divided among a panel of papers), sponsored by an attending professor (with a $500 prize awarded to the professor).
