The Department of East Asian Studies invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in modern or contemporary Japanese literature, media, or culture studies. We are particularly interested in scholars pursuing interdisciplinary and transnational research. The successful candidate should have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and research. The department values diversity among its faculty, is committed to building a culturally diverse intellectual community, and strongly encourages applications from women and members of underrepresented groups. Ph.D. must be in hand or expected by September 1, 2023.
