Call for Proposals, Sixteenth Century Studies Conference (October 26-27, 2017, in Milwaukee, WI)

The Sixteenth Century Society and Conference (SCSC) is now accepting proposals for individual presentation submissions and complete panels for its 2017 annual conference. In this year, celebrating the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther's "Ninety-Five Theses," the SCSC will meet in Milwaukee, a city with a proud German and Lutheran heritage.  As always, we will accept papers on any topic within the "long sixteenth century," not just those on Germany, or Lutheran subjects.

CFP: International Medieval Society Symposium on Evil

For its 14th Annual Symposium, the International Medieval Society invites abstracts on the theme of Evil in the Middle Ages. The concept of evil, and the tensions it reveals about the relationship between internal and external identities, fits well into recent trends in scholarship that have focused attention on medieval bodies, boundaries, and otherness. Medieval bodies frequently blur the distinctions between moral and non-moral evil.
