In October 2019, the Royal Historical Historical Society (RHS) released a “guidance paper” on “Plan S and the History Journal Landscape.”

Plan S is the initiative of 11 major research funders in Europe to require immediate access to articles. The new report is based on a survey of journal editors in the United Kingdom (see the Royal Historical Society's news release).
