H-Utopia, like the 25-year-old Society for Utopian Studies, is devoted to discussion of utopianism in all its forms, from literary expression to policy analysis to architectural criticism to activism. Our focus is on the forms, contents, and influence of utopian/dystopian thinking.

Urgent Response Needed: SUS Conference 2021

Dear Utopists,

I hope you are all well and safe, and getting vaccinated. I am writing because we are faced with a difficult negotiation with our hotel in Austin, TX, for the 2021 SUS conference.

In short, we can either hold a reduced-size conference this year on November 11-13, 2021 ($199/night), or we can reserve the same hotel on September 29-October 1, 2023 ($219/night), at a higher cost all around.

Please respond to the survey below by April 14, 2021, even if it is just to tell us you cannot attend.
