Seeking some guidance

Dear colleagues,

Good evening. My name is Josh Jeffery. I am an historian of religion and politics during the Gilded Age and Progressive Era. After a few years as an independent high school history teacher before finding a t/t position, my interests began to shift more and more towards the history of social studies education. I do not have a terminal degree, and have been seriously considering pursing a PhD in Education, either in the history and philosophy of education, or in curriculum studies with an emphasis on curriculum history. I have been trying to immerse myself in the literature as I weigh options, but I've also found that grasping the ends and outs of a different discipline is somewhat daunting, especially since I've not had any formal education coursework.

I am writing to inquire if there are any curriculum historians or historians who focus on the social studies who might be willing to have a few conversations to guide me as I explore this further. Thank you for your time.
