History of Education Society (HES) committees are ready to receive nominations for 2017 prizes:

  • The Outstanding Book Award: This award recognizes the most outstanding book on the history of education published during the previous year.
  • The Henry Barnard Prize: This award is given biannually for the best essay in educational history by a graduate student. This recognition includes a $500 honorarium and publication in the History of Education Quarterly.
  • The Claude A. Eggertsen Dissertation Prize: This award is given for the outstanding dissertation in the history of education by a student who graduated in the previous year.
