"A Conversation with Joseph P. Reidy," February 11 at 7 PM

On February 11 at 7 PM, the John L. Nau III Center for Civil War History will host its annual Crozer Lecture. This year's event will be a conversation with historian Joseph P. Reidy about his book, Illusions of Emancipation: The Pursuit of Freedom and Equality in the Twilight of Slavery (UNC Press, 2019). Dr. Reidy's book won the 2020 John Nau Book Prize in American Civil War Era History, the Bancroft Prize, and was a finalist for the 2020 Gilder Lehrman Lincoln Prize.

Nau Center Director Caroline E. Janney will interview Professor Reidy online via Zoom.
