I am trying to get in touch with artist Tayo Quaye (b. 1954, Yaba College of Technology Nigeria).
We met in London in 1997 thanks to John Picton. At the time, I was doing my BA in African Art History at SOAS and Tayo Quaye was exhibiting at the Brunei Gallery for the exhibition "Image and Form in Africa" focused on printmaking in Africa since 1960 and co-curated by John Picton. The informal interview I had the pleasure of conducting with Tayo Quaye formed the basis for my dissertation which focussed on three contemporary artists (Bruce Onobrakpeya, El Anatsui and Tayo Quaye) in a historical context. For some years now I have been wanting to get in touch with Tayo Quaye to revisit some of the issues he raised back in the 1990s and compare them with the artworld today.
While I was informed that Quaye is represented in the UK by the London based gallery Aabru Art, to-date I have not had any success making contact with them.
If anyone can help I would be very grateful. Please feel free to contact me directly email@example.com
