CfP: Heritage Studies and Socialism: Transnational Perspectives on Heritage in Eastern and Central Europe

In the last decade, heritage studies have emerged as a field of cross-disciplinary research covering the topics including the built environment, museums and collections, urban planning, memory, and tourism. Though dealing with objects and practices of the past, heritage studies are rather concerned with the relation of heritage to the present and its role in the future.

Call for Applications: 2016 Dissertation and Thesis Development Workshop on the Holocaust in the Soviet Union

The Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum invites applications for a Dissertation and Thesis Development Workshop that is focused on the Holocaust in the Soviet Union.  This workshop will be held from July 18-29, 2016 at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C. 


Evan Smith (Flinders University), Matthew Worley (University of Reading) and Jon Piccini (University of Queensland) are calling for chapter proposals for an edited volume on the Australian far left in the post-war era (1945 to the present). Expanding on our work looking at the history of the British far left, we believe that a survey of the exciting new work being done of the far left in Australia and its influence on wider Australian political history is due.

We are currently seeking chapter proposals on the following topics:
