Histories in Conversation: Kaw Valley History Conference

Saturday, 22 September 2018

At the University of Kansas

In the tradition of past conferences co-hosted with Kansas State University, the History Graduate Student Organization (HGSO) at the University of Kansas is currently soliciting papers for its upcoming conference. Graduate students or professional scholars are invited to submit individual paper or panel proposals that deal with any aspect of history, regardless of academic discipline, methodological approach, and geographical or chronological focus. Instead of couching the conference around any particular event, such as the centenary of the First World War armistice, we seek to put different histories and historical interpretation in conversation, focusing on thematic connections. Equal emphasis is placed on providing young scholars an opportunity to share their work with others to generate productive discussion and feedback.

Abstract Submission Information: Proposals should include paper title, a 250-word (maximum) abstract, and CV. Panel submissions should be sent as one document and include titles, abstracts, and CVs for all papers and presenters. Please make sure to include a few keywords at the end of your abstract to help us organize panels! Only electronic submissions will be considered. Please send all documents either in Microsoft Word or PDF format. Please email all submissions to kawvalleyconference1@gmail.com

Deadline for Abstract and Panel Submissions: 11:59pm CDT 1 May 2018
