The European Journal of East Asian Studies has recently been reorganized with new Executive Committee, Editorial Board and Advisory Board ( With this reorganization an “advance articles” system has been introduced: all articles will be available online before being published in a following issue.

The journal covers social sciences (including political economy) and post-1945 history. Articles are supposed to be understandable for a wide Asian studies readership. Interdisciplinarity is highly appreciated. The geographic focus is on East and Southeast Asia.

Currently EJEAS publishes two issues per year and a third issue per year will be added in 2021. The journal is published by Brill and is indexed by Scopus (and most of the major indexing companies). Each article is submitted to two double-blind peer reviews (and sometimes three reviews).
