2018 ASEAS-UK Conference, 5-7 September at the University of Leeds, UK

The deadline for submitting panel proposals is fast approaching - the conference title is “Southeast Asia Meets Global Challenges” and panels on a wide range of topics are welcome, including: Sustainable and Equitable Development; Social Change and Good Governance; Cultural Heritage and Cultural Production. Proposals on all areas of Southeast Asian studies are welcome.

We are expecting around 250 participants to gather at one of Britain’s best-located campuses in the heart of Leeds, for a lively and welcoming international gathering.

Affordable en-suite accommodation will be available for everyone on campus.

Leeds is a vibrant city in the north of England, just over 2 hours from London by train; there are direct flights from many European cities including Amsterdam, Paris and Prague. More information can be found about the city here - https://www.visitleeds.co.uk/# and about the University of Leeds here - http://www.leeds.ac.uk/

You don't need to list all the participants in your panel at this stage, or even know who they will be - all we want is an outline of what your panel will be about. Panels will be publicised starting in February, and you (and others) can submit abstracts for papers from then on.  Drop us a line with any questions….

Please send panel proposals (200-300 words) or enquiries to Dr Janet Cochrane on J.E.Cochrane@leeds.ac.uk. The deadline is 31 January 2018.
