Network Turkey and the TürkeiEuropaZentrum (TEZ) are calling for applications for their fifth workshop on Turkey in the German-speaking countries, taking place at Hamburg University on March 16 and 17, 2018. The workshop, entitled “Upheavals – Crises – Resistances,” consists of four panels on the following topics: 1) culture, 2) flight and migration, 3) urbanism, 4) academic freedom and education. Its aim is to foster exchange between young researchers of various academic backgrounds focusing on Turkey’s past and present.

The main language of the workshop will be German, but applicants with other language background from the German-speaking countries are likewise invited to apply. The workshop is organized in cooperation with the program “Blickwechsel – Studien zur zeitgenössischen Türkei”, funded by Stiftung Mercator. Selected contributions will be published with Springer publishing in the series “Junge Perspektiven der Türkeiforschung im deutschsprachigen Raum”.
