Summary

The History Department of Barnard College, Columbia University, invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in the field of modern European history between 1800 and 1945 with a focus on the history of the environment, sustainability, technology, medicine, and/or public health. The successful candidate is expected to teach an introductory survey of modern Europe as well as courses in her/his area of specialization. The capacity to situate Europe within a broad context across borders or through transnational connections between Europe and other regions is also welcome, though not a requirement.

Ph.D. must be in hand by the commencement of the appointment in July, 2019.
