Cadernos de Estudos Sefarditas is an international scientific publication issued by the Cátedra de Estudos Sefarditas «Alberto Benveniste» dedicated to publishing original research studies, documents and book reviews with the subject of the Portuguese Sephardic communities and Diaspora. Its periodicity is biannual, and the first number was published in 2001. Cadernos de Estudos Sefarditas is indexed to the international databases Latindex and Qualis/CAPES. WorldCat.

The editors invite authors to submit research articles concerning Sephardic Studies, Iberian Conversos History, and the Sephardic Diaspora. The papers submitted before December 31 will be considered for publication in the forthcoming issue of Cadernos de Estudos Sefarditas that will be launched next May 2019.

The articles should be original and not previously published in other periodic publication or book. In addition to articles, book reviews will also be accepted by the editorial committee. It will be accepted papers in Portuguese, Spanish, English, French and Italian. All papers will be evaluated by the double-blind peer-review system. Galley proofs will be sent to the author for revision. However, it will not be accepted significant changes in the article’s structure or dimension.

 

Submission guidelines

The articles should not exceed 50.000 characters, including blank spaces and footnotes.

The book reviews should not exceed 5.000 characters, including spaces.

It should be included a summary of no more than 900 characters (including blank spaces) in the article's language and in English, as well as five keywords not included in the article’s title.

The articles should be submitted in Word (.doc) format. Main text: size 12, space between lines: 1,5; justified. Footnotes: size 10, simple interline, justified. Title in blond and center-aligned. Subtitles in blond and left-aligned.

All references should be footnotes, without a final bibliography.

The body text should not contain authors’ names or any identifying elements.

Author’s names, their institutional affiliation, email addresses and a brief curricular note must be addressed in a separated file.

Tables, figures, graphics, maps, etc. should be sent in separate files. The places where these materials will be inserted in the text should be indicated, as well as their captions, numbered in sequence as they appear in the text.
